The baby is four months old, which is hard to believe. I feel like I'm living in a world where time is flying by in hyperwarp speed. I spend every spare second with the baby, but those times fly by (and there is still little packing going on!). The nights feel over in the blink of an eye. I barely get to the office these days, and then it's time to leave. Time is just melting.
Miss M. Has slept through the night for 4 of the last 6 nights, and was up only once each of the other two nights. You would think I'd feel somewht rested at this point, but I do not. It occurred to me today that my diet is probably the problem. We have been living on takeout. Not fast food, but still...not as healthy as I eat when I cook. It's been helpful to be able to just pick it up and eat it, but I think we're going to have to give it up. I bought a bunch of stuff to grill, and made this amazing pasta last night with tomatoes, garlic (which is not the baby's favorite, so I really had to tone it down!), olive oil, fresh mozzarella, basil, and olives. It was yummy, and fun to cook. I can't even remember the last time I cooked from scratch! Today for lunch is fresh mango with lime squeezed on it. Hopefully, a revamped diet will give me some energy back!

That food sounds delish! Makes my tummy rumble just to think about it. We also found it very easy to get sucked in by fast food and take out.
Yay for the great MRI results!!
Wow - sleeping through with four months, this is wonderful!
As I got older, I realized time flew by. Everyone said, "Just wait. Wait till you have kids... Then it's like stepping on a banana peel. You just go flying through your life." And I thought to myself, "There's no way it changes THAT much."
And then the boys moved in.
Every single day, there's something new, something that needed to be done that I just didn't have time for, some book I want to read but can't because I just don't have time, and all of a sudden, the boys are in bed and then I go to bed and it starts all over.
I wish I could tell you it slows down, but um... Not so much. So in those moments when she's laying in your arms, gazing up at you with perfect innocence and trust.... Remember to just breathe and take it in. Everything else (EVERYTHING) will be the same in 10 minutes, but Miss M will be different. Savor her. Let the rest slide.
Also try some nettle tea. It's high in iron, which you can sometimes be low on post-partum. I still feel more energized when I drink a mug a day and the boys are almost a year old. It's caffeine free and you can usually find it in health food stores.
That is one of my favorite pasta dishes. I don't put olives in but I do put shrimp or crab meat.
Time goes too quickly.
