The Worst Kind of News

I got the most awful email today from an old friend. She was pregnant and very near her due date, and just learned that her baby has died. They think a virus is to blame. I am completely devastated for them. She is an amazing person, and it was rotten of the universe to do this to her family.

I would like to do something kind for her, something thoughtful. If you have any suggestions for a newly babylost mama, for newly babylost parents, please send them my way.

I've found it most comforting when people sent us Mass cards, acknowledging that our little ones were very loved little people who meant the world to us. A baby book as well was a sweet gift, so we could record our memories.

Hugs to your friend...

How terrible! They're in my prayers.
I would think any kind of keepsake memory thing would be great...perhaps a special box that they can put a few mementos in.

I had the same thing happen to a good friend last summer. I went to http://namesinthesand.blogspot.com/ hoping to buy a photograph with their baby's name. I wasn't able to get one so instead I bought a butterfly photograph.

I also bought her sympathy card from this site. The hallmark cards just didn't say what I was feeling.

Thinking of your friend.
