Dreadful and Lovely

I feel like things have been turned both inside out and upside down in recent weeks. The Big Project is chaos--all on-again, off-again, ruined here, missing a bit there, drama and coddling and begging and pleading and whining and bitching and more drama. For a while, the Big Project looked put off indefinitely, and Borneo was even cancelled (never fear. . .I have a backup plan!). But, the ship appears to have now righted itself (sort of--it's still listing heavily and being navigated by drunken pirates), and we are full steam ahead. But boy, was I pissy by the end of today.

So it was completely lovely to come to the blogosphere and find that I've been tagged, because something fun and creative is JUST what I needed.

Hemingway once bet ten dollars that he could sum up his life in six words. His words were, "For Sale: Baby Shoes, Never Worn." I've been challenged to write my own six word memoir. The rules:

1. Write your own six word memoir.
2. Post it to your blog including a visual illustration if you would like.
3. Link to the person who tagged you in your post and to Bookbabie's original post if possible so we can track it as it travels across the blogsphere
4. Tag 5 more blogs with links
5. Don't forget to leave a comment in the tagged blogs with an invitation to play.

I am tempted, of course, to simply steal Hemingway's own lines, but then I catch myself and realize that this is merely what I am afraid will be my life's story, and I'm not there yet. His words speak volumes to all of us, though, don't they? In any case, without further ado:

Truly, I am not my mother.

I tag (with apologies if you've already been tagged or you simply don't want to play) the people I read today:

1. Sunny in Seattle
2. Adventures [in]Fertility Wonderland
3. On2PlanB
4. Good & Plenty
5. Masha

YAY for making Queenie happy! I get so sad when you're unhappy.

Hey Q. Thanks for the visit and the tag! I will try to think of my sentence tomorrow when I'm in a long ass meeting. :-)

To answer your question: The hep was cheap (found it at Freedom) - only $3.25 per 1ml vial! With my prescription I will go through a vial every four days, I believe, so my total cost for seven vials was $24.50 or something. The Love is a different question altogether - $30 per shot! There's HUGE price difference.

Hope that info is useful. Definitely call around, though, as I'm sure prices vary a lot.

Thanks for visiting my blog! I seriously (SERIOUSLY) love the Furminator. It's so worth the $$. We got the (I think) "large" one - it's yellow and was around $40ish. It's A-MAZ-ING. Our little dog is mostly black lab and has a shiny, curly coat - it doesn't get so much hair out of him, but he doesn't really shed. Our big shedding criminal is Zoe, our 110 pound half blue heeler/half brittany spaniel. He sheds like it's his job. And the furminator makes me love him a little more because it gets sooooooooooo much hair out of him. He loves to be "furminated" as we call it. We just do it about once a week. It's drastically cut down in the dog hair flying around the house and sticking to things. If you can't tell, I love it. Let me know how it goes!

Hi - still thinking hard about those six words. Not sure if I can do it!

I saw alison posting about the furminator - are you thinking of buying one? I got one a while ago. It is SO worth it. And its extereeeeeeeeeeemly expensive to get one here in South Africa.
I have two long haired dogs and spend most of my life in a haze of fur. When I'm a good dog mommy I remember to de-shed them, and it makes an enormous difference. And yes, they love it. Only problem is that its touch to groom Pipppin, the younger one, because he is always trying to chase the puffs of fur around!
