Show & Tell, June 22, 2008

I've been trying to live a little more "in the now." I always seem to have a list in the back of my head of things that I'd like to do "someday." I've been trying to make some of my "somedays" into today, with things both little and big.

So when a new day spa opened near my house recently, I thought I should check it out, and maybe schedule a little pampering. I ran over there yesterday for a few minutes, and they were kind enough to give me a tour. The space is really gorgeous and relaxing, and they offer almost every kind of service you can imagine. And did I mention they are RIGHT DOWN THE STREET? I booked myself a pedicure. While I was standing there, one of the employees mentioned that massages are half off through the end of the month.

I've always wanted to do a hot stone massage, and they offer them. So, in the spirit of "living in the now," I booked myself one for this week. I have a hellish week scheduled, and now I have something nice to look forward to at the end of the week. It's silly and insignificant, but it feels like a little step forward.

As for anyone who was wondering about yesterday , no I didn't. I am, if nothing else, a good girl who follows instructions. Well, most of the time.

The list of things you'd like to do...I ran across a blog where the blogger has this long list, and as she does them, she marks them off. It's pretty cool. http://joyco.wordpress.com/. Thanks for stopping by mine earlier. Hope you enjoy that massage and pedi!

I've been wanting to spend a "day at the spa" for years and maybe I will now that you have inspired me!

When Hubby & I got married, we both booked hot stone massages at the spa of the hotel we were married in. Hubby is never one to want massages, but he agreed to get a hot stone with me and it was WONDERFUL!!

I am so practical, I always have a hard time justifing spending the money on things like that even though they make me feel so good afterward. After reading your post, I think I need to do a little budgeting!!

I think it is wonderful for you to treat your self, not enough women do that. I know I am so busy that I meet my self coming and going. GOOD FOR YOU!!!

oooh, that sounds very nice. And lucky you for getting a spa right near the street. I have a goal to do something nice for myself when I'm feeling down and that hot stone massage sounds just down my alley!

(thanks Fiddle1 for sharing my blog link, I love that! I'm here from NCLM)

Good for you -- enjoy the massage! I had a hot stone massage once (the one of two massages I've ever had) and it was woooonderful. Except I'm ridiculously ticklish so I giggled through part of it. :)

I was just talking about a massage and pedicure today with my co-workers. I too am trying to live in the now. Not thinking about when the baby comes or this or that....just the now.

Ah! Well way to follow instructions, irregardless of how hard that was!

Enjoy that massage! I'm lucky that one of my nearest friends is also a massage therapist who abuses me weekly! I must beg you to post a stone massage blog on your page so we can covet your attention and perhaps book our own!
